So now that the transaction is finalized I've torn into the car and decided to make it how I want it to be.

I had originally wanted to try the EFI and work it out.
But after looking at my budget and my desire to hit the track before Christmas,.. I decided to take things into my own hands and convert the car over to carb.

I picked up a vic jr intake. I've port matched it to a 1262 intake which is what the heads have been port matched to as well. I ported the piss out of the runners and throat area as well.

I'm using a Proform HEI dizzy.

Right now I've got a Holley 600 CFM classic double pumper sitting on it. The carb is temporary. Have a Holley 650 CFM HP carb that should be here before the end of the week.

Keep in mind when looking at the pics.
I am NOT FINISHED. All of the dead wires and vacume lines will be cleaned up. The fuel lines that are hooked up right now are temporary so I could start and move the car. I'm running completely new fuel lines from the tank up.

PLEASE HIT REFRESH TO SEE ALL OF THE PICS. THEY DONT ALWAYS SHOW ON THE FIRST LOADING OF THE PAGE.

SHOULD BE 6 PICS IN THIS POST ALSO.

Here I've used the stock EFI throttle cable.
I've rigged it with a cheap GM style throttle cable bracket from Discount Auto. I think it cost me $9.

Here is why I need an AC delete pulley.
I've only got a limited amount of room to adjust the distributor. So when setting it in,.. you have wire cylinder 1 in an oddball location in order to make it work.

I was too tired to finish the tank and fuel line plumbing.
so far I've already dropped the tank and modified the stock EFI fuel hat so the inline carb pump I have (Should) be able to suck the fuel out of the tank. Worked ok in the 86 I had. Will mount the pump on the rear bumper bracket behind the tank and then run a new fuel line up to the regulator and carb. They way I have it setup I'll be utilizing the stock fuel filter and its location.

Thats it for now.

I've ran it for a little bit off the EFI pump. Some reason the pump would only prime up and then shut off,.. unable to keep the car running for more then 2 - 3 mins till the fuel in the bowls ran out. I fixed the stumble I had coming off idle with the 600 carb. Upped to 67 primary jet and turn up the idle mixure. Turned out to be a lean stumble. Idles smooth now and has a crisp rev. Sucks I'll have to redo everything once the new carb gets here.

Oh yeah,.. and before I forget.
I picked up some new valve covers from 19-camaro-88. Thanks Miles.

I'll post up more as things progress.
