That does suck, but I learned awhile ago that trading anything of significant value is never really work the hassle / aggravation. Sell your car, then take your checkbook to any of the hundreds of bikes for sale and get what you really want.
When you go to trade, the guy has a lot to think about and time to change hsi mind. "Is this car worth more than my bike?", "Can I sell this car quicker than my bike if I decide I dont want it","Will the wife stop putting out if I get this car". If you have cash, the equation is much simpler: "Do I want cash, or do I want a bike I rarely ride".
