You do not need to replace the head gasket to install cam gears. Are you confident in doing this? I would do it in these steps:

Remove grounding strap , plug wires, and all other wires from VC
Remove VC
Remove crank pulley
Remove timing belt covers
Loosen Timing belt tensioner
Slide timing belt off cam gears
Remove cam caps/cam plates
Remove cams
Remove old cam gears
Install new cam gears
Install cams
Install cam caps/cam plates
Install crank pulley
Align cam gears to TDC
Align crank pulley to TDC
Install timing belt
Adjust Timing belt, crank pulley and cam gears at TDC
Tighten tensioner
install timing covers
install VC
double check everything
start it up.



If I have missed anything....please shout. That was a quick 1 minute off my brain install.
