its like obituary said. YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR FOOT IN THE DOOR. A lot of it is bull shit, but a lot of it is not. Things do sound like they have changed a bit; we always had to hook up testers (NOID's, BOB's, etc.) and diagnose random issues. And for people who have never tore-down an auto trans, the old TE-41 might be a great learning experience.
Like I said before, you have to go in with an open mind. Take the classes seriously and you might actually learn a thing or two. The electrical classes were priceless for myself.
