Jerry said it best, "Mitsus are tricky, but there's nothing better bang for the buck." I really don't think DSMs are unreliable, I think that they are just tricky and you have to do perfect repairs or they'll make you regret it.

Thanks for the congrats on the car, all I gotta do is set ignition timing and hopefully it'll be smooth sailin on the street for awhile, especially with the new toys I have to play with, thanks for the 550s btw

If not, there was a thread on tampabaydsm where somebody had the same problem, I think they said they just had a cracked valve cover or it was improperly torqued down or something. I'll have to go find that thread again.
Try replaced the spark plug well seals on the valve cover. If that doesn't work, valve covers do crack often, and JB weld is your friend
