Profec E-01 will work by itself. Its a bad ass boost controller when used by itself. you can pair it up w/ the Emanage, which i may do... for like $350 ontop of the $300 for the Emanage. rather than spending $140 for the PC support tool and cable, then another $400 for half-way decent used laptop... the Profec E-01 comes w/ that LCD display and a remote control (not wireless) to control it. But when you use it w/ the Emanage, you can log up to several parameters and pull them up later to review the runs. you can save as much data as you want, as long as you buy the memory cards, but it comes w/ one card. It also allows real-time display of 3 parameters... me, id probably go with RPM, timing, and Wideband.
My friend is trying to tune the Profec E01 and its hard as shit, there are like 3 stages to tuning it and hes not having the greatest of luck with it... its very technical. and this guy is no retard either, hes the one person who actually found the way to wire an Emanage into an MA70 supra... which GReddy will tell you straightaway that it will NOT work w/ a 7MGTE or MA70 supra... yet he made it work.
The Profec is just a bad ass boost controller and very comprehensive, but when you use it w/ the Emanage, you can use it to actually tune all the values... its not as easy as using the lap top, but you can control every option just like the Laptop.
Keith is right... i woulda went w/ a Garrett-based turbo and not a Mitsu... the Mitsu's are limited on options and the little hybrid dealys that GREddy makes and wht not w/ 17c's, 18g's and 19c's are stupid... like the 16g is an upgraded 14b... just a bigger compressor wheel in a 14b turbo w/ the compressor housing bored out. the Big 16g is bored out even more cuz the wheel is a tiny bit bigger on the Inducer side and alot bigger on the exducer side as the STD 16g. then theres the 17c, which is just the wheel. which is actually used in the 18g turbo. the 17c inducer is only like 8 thousands of an inch larter than the big 16g inducer... the Exducer of the 17c is exactly the same as the big 16g @ 2.680". they make you THINK You are buying a bigger turbo, but you arent... youre basically getting a Big 16g w/ a larger turbine housing. If its the mitsu turbine housing, its an 8cm w/ a standard TDO5 turbine wheel, which is EXACTLY the same thing in 20g, 16g, 14b and FP stage1 Frankenstein turbos.. its not cuz they are being cheap bastards... its just that Mitsu doesnt have a large variety of options to build turbos from... not like Garrett-style turbos.
its cool, i wouldnt run over 20 psi on pump gass though. More than 20 psi, and your Airflow plateus and your compressor outlet discharge temps go up... itll fly... ill make sure i bone up my supra before pullin up to you
