So Saturday was interesting. I had plans to sit on my ass and just do nothing but my girl...errr fiance and I got invited to a BBQ over at a friend's place. I hate getting to these things early so I took my time getting to her place. When I finally arrived we got an URGENT call that they needed BBQ sauce. So I grabbed some from her fridge and headed over. We get there, knock, door opens....there are a TON of people there and they're yelling, "SURPRISE!!!" Cameras are going off, cam-corders are recording, noisy things are being well...noisy. I've got no clue what the hell is happening and just keep saying, "Uhhh, I brought some BBQ sauce." Finally somebody yells, "It's your engagement party!!" Ahhh...of course....it's only been what? Two months? How silly of me. Well things quieted down after a bit and we all got down to some eating/drinking. After that presents were given and my girl and I headed home with a boot full of new dishes and appliances. I just find the whole thing weird. I've never had a birthday party and my family kind of keeps to itself. Her family...it's friggin' huge and loves parties. What's worse is my brother managed to sneak into my computer and grab my phone book out of it thereby allowing my mom to call god only knows how many people and inviting 'em over. Soo...if anyone got a call from a strange English lady or a hyper sister-in-law, now you know what the hell is going on.
