Is that what this is all about..thinking about yourself? No, I don't think he knew he was going to die...but more importantly I don't think he thought or gave a shit about anyone else that he could have killed. That's selfish and irresponsible. And since it's been stated - he's lost other people in his group, he knows the consequences, and cared little about them. If people started acting more responsible this shit wouldn't happen.
