Well, without a doubt a DOHC has more potential than a SOHC.
A SOHC can made to be fast as long the power is transfer to the ground. With good gearing, flywheel, a very light car and of course and a must, a good driver.
The problem with DOHC guys is that they make too much power that don't put all the hp to the ground. Therefore a SOHC that has a decent power will spank the DOHC guy.
Lol, funny, a few weeks when I went to the track, I've seen a '88 HF that had a D16 junkyard turbo setup(that has not been dyno yet) put the smack down a turbo integra. The integra owner claim he had it dyno and was putting down 275hp but wasn't able to hook up.
The CRX still manage a 13.6 at 97mph whereas the TurboTeg was able to do 14.1@106 mph.
See the pattern.
Its not how much you make, its how smart you are with the power you make.
So I do give respect to those SOHC guys on whipping the DOHC cause they take the time to do it right.
