Surprised I haven't seen anybody say it, but I bet Joe's county has an "Adult Probation Department" that you might want to contact to let them know his current activities. Let them know he was at your shop with a cop, give them the officer's name and agency (city PD, county SO, etc.). Joe will have an awful hard time making trouble for you if his probation gets revoked and he's sitting in a cell.
