Heck, finally broke down and registered so I could chime in.
RE "the automotive community coming together"... I hope you realize that this has extended beyond the auto community. I caught this story via Reddit yesterday, and have been keeping updated ~hourly. Even threw some $$ to JAP Works last night to try to help. I am not at all a car enthusiast; I can't even change my own oil. And I'm in California, so geography is not a factor.
I just hate to see someone like JD get away with this crap. Repeatedly. He's on probation at the moment, and wasn't even supposed to be out of his home county -- which, as I understand it -- is *not* the county JAP Works is located in. I bet he's known well enough near his own home that no one will deal with him. Well, it's about time the scope widens. If there's an association of mechanics or repair shops or some such, they should email their members this story suggesting they add JD's name to a blacklist.
Good luck to you all. This is quite a nice forum -- socially and technically. I'm sure it will only grow from here...
