Very Simple. Put together a fund to purchase the car. If the car gets returned to the owner for what ever reason, the cash gets donated directly to Charity. If the we can not raise all $16k, maybe we can work a deal with JapWorks for a discount.

We create a Sig Banner that lists the funds collected to date, so users can add it to there sigs, and watch it grow. Call it the Joe Dono Fund or something.

Find a worthwhile Charity (hell let every member that donates vote), and make sure it's a big PR event. Ebay it or whatever. Even if it sells at ebay for less than we bought it for, I don't think anybody would care.
