We had an initial deposit. Work was done on good faith that his grandfather was going to pay for it as a graduation present. As he added work he kept bringing in more and more stuff such as high-end audio, turbo kit, nitrous kit, etc. He apparently had money since he was buying some high-end stuff. Overall it was my mistake for not demanding he bring us an additional deposit. He told me his grandfather was weary that if he brought us a deposit the car would get pushed in the corner and not worked on until we needed more money. So because of this we continued working on the car.
