I was going over the Howard Franklin well wasn't really on it yet just where it turns into 4 lanes and my tranny went out of gear and stayed out lol. I pull off into the triangle median section there and open the hood. I checked the tranny fluid. It was so low I couldn't see any on the dipstick. So I put a quart in which I had in my trunk. Let it sit for like 20 and tried starting it but it was still too hot to go into gear. I look under the engine and it didn't look like there were any leaks really then I saw a drip. Stupid front tranny seal has a baby leak and me being the overlooking idiot that checks all my fluids except my tranny fluid before i left for st pete didn't realize it hehe. SO we had the tow truck tow it back to mulberry which we got shafted cuz he couldn't turn around so he had to drive across the bridge and back over the bridge then to Mulberry. We get it home check the fluid again and it's fine. So I start it up and it drives normal. *sighs* could have just waited a while instead of calling the tow truck lol. I think I need a tranny cooler on my car anyways I heard there was an issue with Ford FWD trannies and cooling anyways, there's some litigation and lawsuits against Ford at least I dunno. Oh well made for a fun afternoon rofl.
I'm guessing it is an autotragic tranny? Were you planning on swapping in a manual with the new SPI? That would definately solve all your problems.
