+1 for the pump.

A quick test would be to locate the schrader valve on the fuel rail, and while cranking, press the valve open, and see if it sprays under pressure or not.

FYI, you usually can hear the fuel pump running too. It will run for 2 seconds after...
1. Key on power up
2. The last ignition trigger from the crank sensor.
... then shut off.
