Fuel Pump, or something else?
My girls car is an 2003 Mustang V6 convertible.
Sunday, on the way home from Riverview to St. Petersburg, the car stalled in our driveway. I say stalled, cause I cant think of any other term for it.
We made it all the way out to our apartment in St. Pete, and when we stopped in the parking spot, it started to shake and sputter. No engine codes or lights on the dash came up. Put the car in neutral (its an automatic) revved the engine, but it felt like it was dying.
So I shut it off, tried to start it again, it turned over, ran a few seconds a died just as the low fuel light came on...there is 1/4 tank of gas left in there.
Now it just cranks but wont fire up.
If the fuel pump bad? I replaced the fuel filter a lil over 1 year ago. The most recent work done to the car was a new passenger side header, new spark plugs, new injectors, and new spark plug wires.
Also, how hard is it to replace the fuel filter, and where can I get just the pump, instead of the whole assembly?
