Nice pics! Haven't seen those. Now having seen them, I can't think of one benefit to doing it this way. And these make more power than a traditionally mounted turbo? I can tell you right now that they don't.

The first one is a little crude. It's just an SSAC with the flange hacked off and an EWG added. The second one is pretty sweet, but I just don't see any advantage to it. It's not a shorter route, or better, or worse; just different. And he gets one million vertigo cool points... whatever the exchange rate is on those. And he has a clean setup even though I don't like blue.

So now back on topic, you'll see in the second pic that this manifold uses a similar "giant merge" (tm) design that the original poster used. Personally, I think that this is fine. Even the lowest form of manifold, the log manifold, will still make good power up to a certain point, even with it's fluid-dynamics-nightmare way of moving hot gasses.
