same reason an S130 is Z and an S13 is a silvia...different cars and different platforms...same chassis codes...

and to further point out....the skyline name is a brand of family sedans and coupes...the skyline GTRs are the sports cars.

nissan has split them entirely now...the skylines are sedans and coupes and the GTR is the sports car
