Well, today I took my shifter out and hacked it up. Now I just have to go see a buddy of mine to get it welded.

Here it is stock set-up just cut


and heres how short it will be


Should have it welded back together friday and back in the truck... Be about as long and about the same position as a 240sx shifter.
