Hmm, a factory forged crank v. a nodular cast crank is why I'd leave the Lincoln motor in the yard. You are correct about it being aluminum, I had it confused with the iron 5.4 I saw in a VIII I worked on once or twice.
Regardless, the first thing I would do is go and grab a tape measure and a note pad, see if it can even fit. Steering might be an issue (clearance with the steering shaft).
