quite possibly.. best we can do is improve efficiency to make the range of the vehicles better.
one day we might do something like create a tiny nuclear reactor that is safe enough to withstand crashes and can power the motors .. just an abstract thought, there is a lot of tech standing between us and that, and even more politics.
