My buddy built a hydrogen generator with stuff sourced from home depot for his cavelier he drives 100 miles a day. Here are his first impressions:
I ran a good 20 mile test on Saturday night. The heat melted the PVC on the positive terminal side after running for 45 minutes straight.
I was able to get far more power out of the car in the lower gears, it completely removed the smell of gasoline from the exhaust, I smelled it directly with the device on and off for comparison, when I put my hand in front of the exhaust it was wet with water.
Due to the heating issue I have to replace the PVC top and lower the voltage/amperage or get a more heat resistant container. The water was hot but not to the point of boiling.
Also, I need to find a different electrolyte because it de-molecularized and fused to my plates.
Still a few issues but, it's totally awesome for a bunch of home depot parts thrown together.
I'm REALLY surprised everyone isn't jumping on this. I think with PWM and common sense this could be a viable solution to our enrgy crisis. Think outside of the box people!
I'm doing mine soon.
