It looked like a short track, with a short sand pit and a big concrete wall at the end. FWIW, I raced at sunshine when it was a 1/4 mile and Ulmerton road came up pretty fast back then as well. (that was when the pro stock national record was in the 9.90 range)
9.90's are a far cry from 4.90's and quicker at 300+. Also, SOMEONE thought it could cause a problem, or the track would still be 1/4 mile.
