HOLLY CRAP!!! Just when I thought my story couldn't get any more F'ed up.
Caution...LONG crazy story is about to begin:
This morning I decide to do one more drive by/stake out and spot this guy’s car backed into some fenced in area. At the time I thought it might be a dumpster back there, but it turns out to be lake access behind this guy’s house. I then figured if I am going to sit there staring at this guy acting odd I might as well call the cops and have an officer come out there.
As I am sitting there after 30+ minutes this beat up red prelude pulls up behind me. He then precedes to pull beside me after a good 5min and rolls down his window. He asks me if I am here to serve the guy papers...at that point I am like WTF. He asked again if I am here to serve the guy divorce papers. I told him no and didn't get into what I was there for. Luckily the officer pulls up as I am talking to this guy and he then pulls into his driveway. While I am talking to the officer telling him my story he proceeds to go into this guy’s house through the backyard.
After the cop called his boss and auto theft detectives, he tells me we are going to go have a talk with this guy. Basically because I told the officer that I spotted my parts in the garage yesterday. We go knock on his door and after a few times and screaming sheriffs’ office the "friend" opens the door.
The officer asks if Edward is home and the friend/Jose stated that he is out on the boat. Officer then asks to have his friend get him back so he can talk with him. The friend then says "He doesn't want to get into trouble". Officer tells him that he was already arrested for Grand Theft Auto and that this guy (I) just wants his parts back. I then tell him what parts and the friend says he has seen them around and I can pick them up at his shop on Armenia...I am in total shock at this time. I then asked if the parts where there, and I think with him being nervous he actually admitted they might be there. The officer then says that if he does no cooperate that he is going to have a search warrant issued to have the entire property searched. The friend then says one second...he goes into the garage/attic and comes back with my missing fairings...once again I am in total shock!
At that point the office gets all this guys information and come to find out the "Friend/Jose" lives no more than 2-5min from me off Land O Lakes, BLVD...once again in complete shock. I tell him that I live right around the corner and that was quite a coincident. Anyways, the cop takes a picture of my parts and then hands them to me.
Yes, the cops are going to pursue ALL involved parties further but I can not go into any more detail than that. This has turned into the most BIZZARE situation I have ever been involved in.
One last thing, I just found out that this guy/Edward "Claimed" that he was holding the bike for a friend that just got put in jail for violation of probation when he was pulled over. However, who stores parts of the bike in the Attic when they are just "storing" the bike for a friend. Also, found out that he posted a "CASH BOND" which means he paid the entire $2,250 up front in a matter of 5hrs.
Me staking the guy out waiting for the cops to show up:
