As previously stated. Its a 3.73 gear from Ford motorsports catolog. New carrier bearings, pinion bearing, crush sleeve, outer seals, new Yukon 28 spline axles and new axle bearings. Lukas oil and friction modifier added. The upper and lower control arms are stock. I do how ever have a brand new set of Mac upper and lower arms with poly bushings still in the box that I was planning on using in another car that I may include depending on how the deal is made. This is NOT a built rear. It is a stock rear with some upgraded parts.
I'm a shade tree mechanic. My father inlaw is a retired mechanic and when he retired here to Fla he built a 1700 sq ft garage behind his house. It has a 10k lb lift, over $20k in hand and power tools as well presses, welders, hoists,.. you name it. I have full access to this shop. I dont like working on other peoples rides because of a few bad experiences I've had trying to help someone in the past. Replaced a clutch,.. all labor for free. 1 month later they blew 2nd gear in the tranny and blamed me for the damage caused by their abuse. I dont know enough about newer cars to become a full time mechanic. Particularly the electronic side of things. I've owned several Mustangs. a new 89,.. my 96 GT I've had since 99 and a 96 Cobra. The GT has seen head swaps,.. 2 k-members, 3 different gears, a full assortment of bolt ons, various exhaust configurations, 2 motors,.. 2v and a 4v motor. The only thing I havent done is the IRS swap. Been looking for a guy like you who wants to do the swap.
Some guys dont like the 94 - 98 housing on a 99+ car. I personally believe its because they dont run more then a 9" wide wheel.
See if you can find someone that runs a SN95 axle on a new edge Mustang and get some opinions from them. I've heard both,.. positive and negative. Negative from a guy running 18x9 Saleen wheels all the way around. And positive from a guy running 17x12 rims with a 325 tire out back. I dont want to do the swap with you and you later on not be happy with the results. If superdutymark has a 99+ rear,.. consider his before mine. A 99+ solid axle will be the proper width for your car.
I want the rear to put in a 96 GT I have. I always thought it would be cool to run an IRS in a SN95 car. Dont know how my 10.5 wheels will fit,.. may have to do some fender modifications keep them,.. or else go back to a 17x9 wheel.
