I personally would never try to tow a car trailer with anything that small. Not that it couldnt pull it,.. that isnt the issue. The issue would be the weight transfer and ability to stop.

I've had my 21' car trailer since 1996 and have tried pulling it with several vehicles. When empty my S10 blazer pulled and stopped it fine. But with my old 84 Camaro on it,.. forget it. The ass end sagged so bad,.. had to back the car to the end of the trailer to center the weight because the trailer was dancing too much at anything over 40 mph. I had a 84 chevy 2500 with a 305 that pulled anything I put on the trailer nicely. My 93 Ford F250 with 7.3 diesel was my best. Hardly knew it was back there when cruising. Brakes could have been a little better,.. but 17 - 20 mpg towing 3100lb Mustang couldnt be beat.

If your looking for a tow vehicle,.. I strongly recommend at least a 3/4 ton truck. A 1/2 will carry it fine if the car is centered on the trailer right,.. but wont stop the same as a 3/4 or 1 ton truck will. (I borrow my father inlaws E150 van to tow mine now) If the tow hauler is too light,.. you risk doing what I call the dance of death. It wont happen till at speed,.. and happens so quickly. The rear feels like its swaying from side to side,.. and suddenly your in a slide and the trailer just pushes you when you try to stop,. end result is usually a jackknife with damage to both the trailer and your hauler. This happened to a friend of mine who tried to tow an RX7 on a car trailer with a 99 V8 Dakota. Just not enough truck. I was in it with him when it happened.

I have nothing against the Edge,.. looks really nice. But I wouldnt try to tow anything more then a riding mower with that.
