Actually it is the cousin to the Celica, and is built on the chassis of the Avensis (european only). Yes it has the camrys 4 cyl. I do believe, the tC, or anything toyota has made for that matter has had a better reputation than ford....
Not to take sides or be an asshole or anything, but the Celica was originally a spinoff of the Camry...the Matrix off of the Corolla, the Solara also off the Camry
