So yeah... I just got another Mustang coupe.
Its been sitting for a solid TWO years, possibly a little longer.
Obviously its going to take more than just replacing the battery to get this thing started.
I was wondering how I would go about starting this thing? Its a carb'ed auto 351w, they left the oil, coolant, gas and everything in it. I'm trying to figure how I'd go about checking things to make it turn on and run good...
I know obviously drain everything and refill it with fresh stuff but do you guys think I'll need any new parts? The car has a sump on it also if that counts for anything... also should I drop the oil pan and the gas tank you think? And will the fuel pump be affected by sitting so long?
Also what kind of oil should I run in a 351w, I'm just going to use water/water wetter mix for the coolant and obviously 93 octane, just got to figure out why this thing isn't running...
And does anyone know where I could possibly rent a storage unit or something where I could store and work on the car without problems? I really need to get it closer to me because the car is in Hudson and I live in St. Pete so its kind of a bitch to actually get time to work on it.
Thanks guys.
Oh and does anyone have any spare 4 lug wheels I could have for cheap with tires to move the car around on? Its on drag lites with some boo boo tires on them and one of the rears was flat when we picked it up.
