UPDATE
"put my single cam on the dyno today.....and had a little bit of a boost spike on the first pass....oops. lett off early but still cleared 300whp. had the TEC set to where there is no timing at all..so even that number was a little missleading. not quite sure what boost spiked to..i want to say around 18psi. everything happened so fast i just let off the throttle. somehow the AVCR decided to kind of do its own thing, a bunch of the settings were wack even though they were untouched.
anyways...put the boost down to a moderate level and made 275whp at about 14psi. motor isnt broken in yet, so everything is tunned very conservativly.
let me tell you though....i have driven probably 25 B-series motors that make over 300whp. compared to a 300whp B18, this easilly FEELS like a 400 horsepower motor...just due to the turbo size, the redline, manifold, the set up in general....all ihave to say is that i could not be more pleased. 275 with this set up is pretty frightening. the numbers mean nothing.
after seing how things went on the dyno today, i'm going to try to shoot for 325-350ish horsepower on the street...and MAYYYYYYBEEEE touch 400 or so on race gas. i know right now nobody will beleive me or think that that is possible........but we will see how it goes wish me luck!"
"oh yea...i'll try to remember to print out my dyno chart tomarrow or something.
also the scariest thing in the world happend to me on the 3rd pass on the dyno. i was at about 5000 rpm, car is squating hard due to the power and stufff...and all the sudden it sounds like i hit a rev limiter...and the car totally shut off. i almost shat my pants. come to find out...my crank pulley broke and the TEC trigger wheel went flying across the shop! somebody could have died!!!!"
