Well, yes...you can say that. Thats like saying, "Planes work because the turbines go WOO WOO!" but I suppose if you're on a board dominated by 16 year old mentally challenged 'drifters' its an adequate explination.
Let me elaborate on what they were regurgitating.
E85 has lower reaction temperatures than gasoline. That means you can advance your timing and increase your compression ratio far more than you can do with regular gasoline. Because of this, it IS possible to make more power with it.
Thats about where its advantages end.
E-85 eats up your fuel system (unless you have a car specifically designed for it,. Even then, I question the long-term effects of E-85 on the fuel system). Also, E-85 has less potental kinetic energy in it than an equal amount of gasoline. That means that if you were able to extract and utilize 100% of the energy from a molecule of E-85 and a molecule of regular gasoline, you'd get more out of the gasoline.
E-85 isn't the answer to anything but appeasing those who blindly chant, "Lessen our dependancy on oil" and the latest and greatest way for peopel to make money off of America's ignorance.
