Sorry we couldn't make it out guys. We were hoping to get further on our little body/paint project than we did. Every time we tuned around, there was another little dent that need taken care of. So we didn't even get her primered yet.
Anyway,
I'm liking the lake seminole idea. I personal don't like doing to placed like Fort Desoto because I'm anal about the sand. Even if you don't go to the beach, it is still everwhere, and it is a bitch to clean out. Maybe I'm just OCD like that.
I'm thinkin Fort Desoto is just played out. I personally like lake seminole. I don't know if it is close enough to the center of everyone, but I'd like to think it isn't as far as Fort desoto is, ya know.
I know it sounds funny, but high school is just about out, so everyone is doing their finals. I'd be willing to bet that a large number of people that showed up last time were still in high school. That means that by the end of the month, they are all free for summer. I have no doubt that was a factor for the poor turn out.
As for doing a meet in tampa, it would have to be a parking lot meet and that doesn't seem like the same thing that we are trying to talk about. I don't know anyone that would A) want to put the burden on their own shoulders to pay for the shelter, and B) would want to pay to hang out under a shelter after they just spent "X" on gas and food and what not, ya know. It might be something to consider after we get a bit of "family" established. ya know.

my 2 cents,
We need to start planning another bigger meet. We'll refer to that as the BBQ. I'm feeling the Lake Seminole location. Get it talked up and shoot to get about 50 people out like last time. From there, we need to have at least a monthly parking lot meet set up. That way, when we have those 50 people there, we can tell them about our parking lot meet and try to get them to come out to that. That way it isn't just the same 5 TR people every time. If we can do that, then the following BBQ won't be so hard because we will have a small group established already through the parking lot meets. That will lead to more people comin out to the big BBQs...
I would suggest getting this all together for the beginning of june.
I wouldn't waste the time with the "who's interested" threads. We already know there are at least 50 people who are interested. Lets get the ball rolling on where to take those 50 people.
Pick a location for the BBQ
Pick a date
Pick a location for the parking lot meet (and get it ok'ed with whoever owns the parking lot)
Pick a "when" for the parking lot meet (as in the first friday of the month at 7pm. or something like that)
Then work on ironing out the details. (maybe even make a "flyer" to copy and paste to other forums)
Then start spreading the word.
