I don't know a lot about Honda's, but all indications point to this salesman being an idiot. The standard 97 Accord engine was a 145 horsey powerplant, with an optional 2.7 V6 which brought 170 horseys to the table. The 98 Accords had an optional 3.0 V6 which was impressive, generating 200 hp quite nicely. but it still was in the 3200 lb+ range. You in a 93+ Third Gen RX-7 that comes with 255 hp/2800 lbs stock. Even without mods VS. a modded 97 Accord, you would likely win. You are modded though, so this wouldn't be much of a contest, except perhaps in the mind of a daydreaming car salesman.
