Default HyTech replica+swapped EF= no no....

so ya, my old DNX 4-2-1 header broke at the flange where it bolts to the head. was cracked for the past 3 years just never got around to fixing it/replacing it. well on my way home from work the other night it broke, so i parked it untill it could be fixed....

well today i went and bought a nice HyTech replica header 4-2-1 (2) piece slip-on design

so i jack the car up and drop the old header, and proceed to install the new one. well i get the top half on and bolted up to the head, go to put my Jim Fab traction bars(cross member) back into place and what do you know......the header hits the cross member this cross member was designed to clear bigger headers

so we got to thinking about it and maybe the mounts i have sit the motor too low or something, so we took the cross member out all together. then proceeded to cut about a 4 inch section out to clear the header. re-install and bolt everything up so i could drive the car home (just got home a few min. ago its 4:48 am now)

so today/tomorrow's plans ar to get some tubing and reconnect the cross member and brace it all up for added strength from where we had to cut it... and honestly if i had it to do over again, i would have just sold the header and bought something else... but i had already paid a substancial amount of money to get this one. so it had no choice but to fit...

pix to come when i get this finished up, but this header after driving the car was worth the headache. it makes more power across the powerband(noticable to the "ass dyno") and looks amazing!
