Amanda,

PTK = Phi Theta Kappa. It's an International Honor's Society at my school, St. Petersburg College. Our specific Chapter is Alpha Zeta Tau. The I/H/S represents the best students from each college; those carrying above a 3.75 GPA I believe (mine is a 4.0), and requires a commitment to excellence in your scholastic achievements, but also a commitment to the community.

Our Chapter is considered a 5-Star Chapter, meaning we meet & exceed all the requirements of an Active Chapter. We partake in many fund-raisers, such as this "Relay For Life," and also campaign for changes in Tallahassee, and also do stuff like Road-Side Cleanup ("Adopt-A-Mile" Program) just to name a few. Each of these activities that we partake in, as a student, gives us the opportunity to experience working in the community, but also allows us to use these activities in scholarship registration applications. Usually, the students with the best of GPA's and most involved in the school and community, get the most amount of money to continue furthering their education!
