I always seem to loose rad fluid also, but to my knowledge my radiator is not leaking. it happens when i dog on the car, I park is and like I noticed one time that I had a puddle of water under my car when I drove away later. In general it looses water some how also, but when parked on a hill and filled properly it still stays at 190-210 degrese. Sorry, really stupid problem, million situations for a fix. heating issues on a car really blow because theirs like a thousand scenarios.
ok im just waking up. I also forgot a rad cap can even cause a temps to spike. yeah sounds stupid i know. but it so true. If it was me. I would go thru the simple shit first. replace the thermostat and the rad cap. then see about bleeding the air out of the system. take your time bleeding it. last time i bleed my car it took like 15+ minutes to get all the air out. then take it out for a ride and see whats up.
because you mentioned you have had coolant under the car before. while your out get a piece of cardboard thats big enuff to go from tire to tire, bumper to fire wall. when you get where ever you are going place it under the car. I know it sounds stupid. but this way you can see if there is any fluid coming from your car and not someone elses prior to you parking.
IMHO instead of busting your balls on some of these rad. check out the yashimoto's. (sp?) they are cheaper than the fludyne (sp?) as well they come w/ fans sometimes. so you can sell those off to someone else. also you dont have to get a nismo thermostat. either go get one from nissan or go to autozone or something like that and get one there. just be sure to get something that is oem spec "170" I've been running one of those duralast thermostats w/ no issues.
try that and see if it helps.
now its steak and eggs time. i <3 breakfast.
