for future reference, that was a very dumbass point to try and make. especially the cruising on the highway at 117 mph part. at that speed, the fan is actually pulling less air than what is already flowing over the radiator. Technically, you could turn the fan off and there would be no difference in temp. Many will argue that you don't need a fan after 40 MPH. The main time you need a good one is sitting in rush hour traffic, stop and go for hours. When you don't get much over 10 mph. that is when you will run the hottest. not in 5th gear, with little load, at over 100 mph.
