.020" over is about the safe limit for an overbore for a 4.6 I believe it works out to be about 283 ci vs the stock 281. this is not done for the increase in displacement, the gain from that is negligable. the benefit comes from unshrouding the valves, by making them further away from the walls of the cylinder
