It depends on where you plan to ride and what you want to do.
Bikes are IMHO the most fun individually, or with a group of skilled riders in a conducive environment.
We went with utility (4X4) quads this time because we are using them for off-road / trail riding often times in uncharted areas where we end up making our own paths.
The sport quads are fast, but not really of interest to me nor capable to do the things we set out to do the 4X4's.
The 4X4 quads allow us the go just about anywhere, and typically, we are not in a rush..... it's all about enjoying the ride, terrain & company.
There are several of us that go out and have a great time on the 4X4 4-wheelers.
Kids, Adults, Teenagers..... we all have a blast out in the woods on the quads.
So, it really depends on what you want to do.
