B20b/z(CRV) motors aren't great to use for racing purposes, they are weak blocks, sleeves are thin, good torque, but not very great hp. They don't like revving too high w/o rods and sleeves.

H22a would be a very nice setup, either all motor, or FI.

B18c1 is a very good all around choice having decent displacment, tq and good base hp.

B18b is great for torque and loves boost. Only a fair choice for an all motor app

LS/VTEC is a great setup IF and ONLY IF you build it right. Ive seen these motors boosted (Dave) run like raped apes, and Ive also seen then done wrong, and self destruct on themselves.

Hope that helps. These are just my opinions. You could always try and be different and drop an FWD sr20 in there.
