Well back in the day (1970) Desoto, Sunshine, Twin City (Oldsmar) and as I recall Tampa Dragway all got together and formed a "big dog, little dog " series. The little dogs were limited to 355 cubic inch and as I recall all Fords/Mopars/Chevies ran the same weight break. the "bog dogs pretty much was run what you brung, but (again, as I recall) you had a different break for the Hemis. The big dog class was pretty much all pro stock cars (back when they were a little more stock). In any case they ran both classes and at the end of the night it was little dog vs big dog based on the fastest ET ran during eliminations. The eliminations were all heads up)Again, as I recall the big and little dog winners got $500. the top dog, the winner of the overall got another $500. this was very popular, it was like a mini racing series in Tampa Bay and was highly attended by specatators, it was also highly promoted.
If it were ME, and I was doing it today,I'd make everyone run a clutch 4 speed and an HEI for an ignition, no other electronics allowed. I'd also run it as a single 4bbl class.
