Thumbs up Remove lock assy

Look under the hatch, above where the tag goes on the car, you will see a black clip, that has a aluminum rivet holding it in place, take a flathead screwdriver and hammer, pop the head of the rivet off, take the screwdriver and put under the clip and work it out of the slot, after the clip is out, you can remove the lock assy from the hatch, be careful, slowly work the lock assy out with a screwdriver, once the lock assembly is out, you might need a flashlight to look down in the lock assy hole, you will see a slot in the lock mechanism that the lock assy arm rides in, stick the flathead screwdriver in there and turn, the hatch will open right up, also works on notchback and vert decklids. I learned how to do it, from buying wrecked stangs from a salvage auction, alot of times they would be missing the keys, it's really amazing how easy it is to get into the hatch or decklid of one. Good Luck,
Brian
