I might be able to give some insight....
it is not uncommon for Ford to "destroy" test cars when they are done with them. Ford sends them to an outside company to be diassembled and then the parts are sent to the Ford owned salvage yards called Greenleaf. The outside company is called DST. I have seen lots of interesting things at Greenleaf. I wont be surprised if those cars end up there.
some cars ive seen...a 5.0L 5sp Explorer, an auto 4.6L DOHC 95 Mustang, 2000 Cobra convert., etc.....
