Yes, less reciprocating mass means faster acceleration even if power remains a constant. That is why a 4 banger can out accelerate an equally powered V8... becasue its internals weigh less, hence take less time & effort to move around.

The misfire cells disappeared with the 2005 ECU in the Sti and only occured randomly-anyway when 10 pound flywheels were used. If you do get one, it is harmless.
The 06 STi flywheel weighs 19 lbs and the ACT Atreetlite weighs 15 lbs. A 15 lbs flywheel is not really that lite. ACT does make a 10 pounder for the STi called the Prolite. Anyway the car should rev out a little better from the 4 lbs savings in this wheel.
I will save the stocker, resurface it, and reuse it again if I get back into the Bradenton drag racing. For my intended use at Sebring, this Streetlite should be a welcome addition.
