I don't know i'm gonna try it your way right now see how it comes up mine are solid because I select the whole picture, then i select the -selection tool and deselect the picture to where I want the border, then I hit undo without moving the mouse and deselect the center of the picture, just leaving a border area selected then I color it in.


i just did it your way and mine come out faded too.
