With the system I want to run Ill have VTAK anytime Im boosting (as early as 2500 rpms) and a higher rev limit (about 9500 or so)
Not to mention everyone and their brother has a C1, I like the baller status that comes with the CR, and hopefully Ill get to join the k-series killaz krew.
What makes the C1 tranny better for boost?
But not everyone has a c1 supercharged!!!!
A supercharged GSR probably puts out just as much power as a SC Type R not to mention safer!!
Longer gear ratio.. you wont have as much trouble catching grip and you dont have to worry about shifting gears every 2.5 seconds as with the type R.
I just dont want to see another Type R go to waste. If your not going N/A dont get a Type R. Those motors are out the factory tuned for N/A. Lighter flywheel, balanced crank, closer gear ratio high rpm out put cam setup. EVERYTHING is tuned for N/A and you putting a supercharger at 11 psi will end up bumping heads with all the work honda put into those motors. Something is going to blow!
But, its your car. I can only advise you on what to do but the decission is always yours.
If you get the B18c SiR-G (JDM GSR) you will have a lower compression and you still have the same LSD as the Type R. IMO that motor is much better for boost. My friend has that motor on 8 psi and he put down 280 whp. Thats plenty of power on a DailyDriver civic
