If you do not have the money for a proper setup, just save up and do it properly.

To clarify :
Turbo your motor, but either have a stock backup motor if this one blows, or have a built motor hanging out till this one blows. When it does blow, you will have little down time.
If you do not have the money to at least buy a backup motor right now... do not do it, because Murphy's law will leave you with a blown motor. If you get a backup motor... this one will last... That's just how it goes.
I am putting a turbo on my Maxima daily this year, after I get a backup motor.
