Just saw the thread about the age and experience of bike tech members and thought, I wonder how many times everyone has been down in the years they have been riding. I think these numbers will make some noobs think twice.

Personally, I have been riding street for a little over three years and have been down only once (lucky). I rear ended a suburban doing about 35-40mph, broke my shoulder, totalled my bike, but got off pretty easy compared to what could have happened if I didn't have a helmet on. It was totally my fault as I was still in my hard core squid days and just got a 1000 for the first time (thought I was superman I guess).

I have also been rear ended once at a stop light but the guy saw me at the last second and almost stopped in time. No injuries with that one.

So lets hear all those war stories...
