gpcrew. look a this in response to your stupid sig.
The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Police estimate a speed of 155mph before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection . At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place.
All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license .
At 155 mph the operator is traveling at 227 feet per second. With normal reaction time to (SEE-DECIDE-REACT) of 1.6 seconds the above operator would have traveled over 363 feet (21 yards more than the length of a football field) while making a decision on what actions to take. In this incident the police indicate that no actions were taken.
a bike at 185 is still just as deadly as that cop car.

well first let me say that "Police estimate" has never been right about anything!!! EVER!
so there's no telling what really happened that day. but yes, getting hit in the side by a bike at 180 would suck... good thing it doesn't happen often at all, and the one time is does, it gets carted around like a prize. unlike head on crashes with drunk drivers that happen all the damn time and you will never see those pics all over the net or even make the papers, cause its not news, everyone drives when they shouldn't from time to time. cops are ok with it, and laws say they can't sit outside bars to test everyone leaving, which is bullshit if you ask any non-drinker..... we have bigger fish to fry and no one cares, so don't except me to side with a cop killing a biker.
still say if crashing into the guy is ok, why not just shoot him as he rides by your road block.
