something as simple a using a relay and wiring it to your turn sign - so you must put you turn signal on before your car starts would stop most punk theifs, i have wired it up to turn signals, driving lights, defroster, wipers, i even made the cig lighter a master switch, take it with you and it will never start, put it in and push down and then starter works again. simple easy ideas like this could save your car, but again this is TR and no-one spends the cash for prevention, they always wait till it is too late - get jacked and then have something done. my .02 take it for what it is worth.
