Cause he was doing about 60 mph and I'm not sure if you know or not, you out drive your high beams at about 40 mph. so that means he had 20 mph of additional speed where he was out driving his headlights. Headlights only illuminate about about 400 feet in front of a car when on high, maybe a hair bit more but think, at 50 mph you are covering 73.3 FPS, you do the math.
